Gingival Surgery (Sometime called Periodontal or Gum surgery) is performed to managed missing, damaged or unsightly gum tissue. There are a number of procedures that can repair and even regenerate gingival tissue depending on the situation.
There are may reasons that your dentist may refer you to the Center for Oral and Facial Surgery for a gingival surgery. These include sensitive teeth, excessive show of root surfaces caused by gum recession, bleeding or inflammation of the gum tissue, and an unpleasant odor or taste in your mouth.
