Temporomandibular Disorders (Sometimes called TMJ, TMD, TMJD)

Facial Pain may be the result of many different causes.  Pain around the Temporomandibular Joint is quite often the result of the surrounding muscles.  

At The Center for Oral and Facial Surgery we follow a very conservative approach to facial pain that focuses on identifying other causes of pain and resolving treating any muscular issues first.

At times, surgical options are necessary when all other options fail to resolve an issue of the temporomandibular joint. It is at these times that your dentist or physician may refer you to The Center for Oral and Facial Surgery because of our focus on minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures whenever possible.
